This kit is designed to help you build expanded control surfaces for the LE STRUM MIDI controller. The kit was put together in association with MIDI-Error following a couple of custom Le Strum builds. For inspiration of how you might use this, check out the Le Strum User Mods Gallery.

This kit is intended to help you in your custom DIY project. It assumes you have a project housing in mind, have already built a LE STRUM kit and are confident with assembling and soldering electronic kits and fitting IDC connectors to ribbon cables. The kit will need to be mounted in some kind of enclosure to be usable.
The kit includes
• 3 x Button PCBs
• 1 x Strum Pad Breakout PCB
• 1 x Interface PCB
• 5 x 26-pin IDC PCB-mount sockets
• 5 x 26-pin IDC cable mount connectors
• 2 x Single Row 2.54mm SIL male headers
• Approx 1 metre of 26-way ribbon cable
You will need 36 chord button switches of a type suitable for your build. These need to be momentary push-to-make switches, but any shape or size will be usable so let your imagination run wild. However for switches that can be directly soldered to the button PCBs we recommend the Multicomp switch type R13-24A-05-BB or equivalent. This is a common style of push button switch which can be purchased for varying prices and in variable quality from other sellers (e.g. Aliexpress). Other models of switch can be wired to the pads on the board provided you use momentary, push-to-make switches.
Please Note – this kit is just a utility to help make your build tidier. What kind of project you are going for is up to you and your imagination and there are no instructions beyond the basic information on how to connect everything up. This is not a complete kit to make any specific type of build. Please see the assembly guide for more information
Please note you will need a LE STRUM DIY kit (or PCB if you want to source your own components). The Le Strum PCB/components are NOT INCLUDED
